Matrusree temperature sensor assemblies are an excellent choice for demanding temperature monitoring and control applications. These sensors provide superior construction features for use in a variety of application environments constructions include a wide selection of industry standard probe configurations and mounting fittings.

Matrusree  offers one of the most complete quality engineered and manufactured thermocouple  and rtd selections in the industry, along with a wide array of related sensor accessories such as metal sheathed mineral insulated thermocouple cable , thermowells, jack panels and insulated thermocouple and extension wires. Available from stock or custom engineered/manufactured.

Thermocouples:

thermocouple sensor consists of two dissimilar metals joined together at sensing point to generate a small thermoelectric voltage when subjected to heat. This change in thermo electric voltage is detected by a supporting instrumentation and acted upon by additional control circuitry. Several type of dissimilar metals are used depending on the application temperature and environment

An infinite variety of combinations can be designed to suit all temperature sensing applications. Type j is the most commonly requested thermocouple wire, followed by type k. Both are readily available, and other types are available by special request.

Horizontal forced air (convection) oven

Matrusree’s forced air ovens are engineered to meet your most demanding needs and solutions to specific applications such as drying, curing, baking, and sterilizing while also allowing for considerations of performance and price. Horizontal airflow the true horizontal airflow system offers a high level of performance and optimal circulation with the oven shelves fully loaded. Heated air is directed into the duct space on the right side of the oven and flows through horizontal slots and across the shelves. The air then exits the chamber through slots on the opposite chamber wall. "one pass" circulation means that the air is circulated through the blower and over the heating elements each time it passes through the oven chamber.

Casted Heaters

Aluminum cast in heaters can be casted into any shape and size needed, thus fully covering the part to be heated and virtually becoming the part itself. Most cast in heaters are made to customer specifications, but standard sizes are available out of stock.

Aluminum cast in heaters are contamination and corrosion resistant and can with stand high temperature and pressures in harsh environments with trouble free service

Porcelain Heaters

Matrusree’s Porcelain Heaters, offer a large heated area to the Gases, liquids or semi-solids to be heated when inserted into a thermo well. A Feature of this type of heater is that it may be removed for repair or replacement without draining the contents of the vessel. The sheathing Material may be M.S, S.S or Titanium or with clamp late, depending on the application.

Construction:

Open helical coils of high resistance wire is evenly stretched and laid through fluted refractory bobbins.these elements are then inserted into metal pipes of different diameters depending on the diameter of the fluted refractory bobbin, forming an integral part of the system. They are also welded to screw plugs of 1 ½” 2” or 2 ½” BSPT. Vertical heaters are provided with non-heating Zone, as they are required from top. Watertight terminal is available for this type of heater.

Material such as oil, wax, fats and bitumen require low heater surface temperature to prevent product degradation. For these applications the Ceramic Bobbin heater are ideal.

Mica Strip & Plate Heaters

Matrusree strip heaters are an economical and reliable source of heat for industrial equipment where even heats, over broad surface areas are desired.

Three basic strip heaters constructions are illustrated here.

Mica strip & plate heaters

Matrusree strip heaters offer a rugged construction available in electro plated steel or stainless steel. These strip heaters are an excellent choice for surface contact heating

a specific, nichrome or kanthal ribbon wire is wound on specially selected mica strip, providing even heat distribution for maximum heater life. Mica of 1mm thickness is used to insulate the windings, providing excellent dielectric strength and thermal conductivity for efficient heat flow. Plus mica withstands high voltage spikes, resists moisture and is inert to most chemicals. The element is then enclosed in either a stainless steel or a specially treated rust resistant electro plated steel sheath to provide high emissivity and good thermal conductivity for sheath temperatures up to 300°c. (for sheath temperatures up to 550°c a stainless steel sheath is available).

one critical issue with flat heaters is that they tend to detach from the surface they are mounted on due to thermal expansion. To prevent this, an adequate number of mounting screws should be used at the ends as well as the middle of the heater. Incorporated pressure plates could be used to give rigidity to the top sheet, improve heat transfer, and maintain a uniform heat distribution.

ceramic insulated channel strip heaters:

matrusree’s strip heaters are constructed of specially selected high quality materials, beginning with the high temperature alloy resistance wire uniformly coiled and spaced over the width of the heated length of the strip heater. This controlled coil process and replacement assures uniform heat distribution over the entire active surface of the heater. Special care is taken to secure the stud-type terminal to the high-temperature alloy resistance contact.

the coiled resistance wire is embedded in a special refractory material that possesses excellent heat transfer characteristics and superior insulation properties. The entire heater assembly is encased in either stainless or chrome steel sheath and is compressed under high pressure. The completed assembly is heated under controlled conditions to bake and semi vitrify the refractory for a rigid, vibration resistant, heavy-duty heating unit.

Tubular Heating Elements

Matrusree electro heats designs and manufactures industrial electric tubular heaters that set the industry standard for excellence. The most versatile of all electric heating elements, the tubular heaters are capable of being formed into virtually any configuration.

Three basic tubular air heaters constructions are illustrated here.

  • (Single-pass) Tubular Heaters.
  • Custom Built tubular heaters
  • (Two-Pass/Single Circuit) Tubular Heaters
  • Duct Heaters
  • Finned Tubular Heaters

Depending on the application different tube diameters and different tube Sheath materials are available. Heating of air requires an oxidized tube surface. The Commonly specified Sheath Materials are SS304, SS316, and SS316L & INCOLOY for high temperature applications. The range of ratings, sizes, materials and terminations available, makes the tubular heater adaptable to many industrial, commercial and scientific applications. All watt ages and voltages are possible as long as the resistance is within the fixed limits and the surface load will not be exceeded.

Features:

  • Maximum Sheath Temperature: 620°C.
  • Watt density : Max up to 25 w/in²
  • Heating element in Copper (nickel plated), SS304, SS316, SS316L, Incoloy, and Lead/Teflon Coated Sheath Materials.
  • Moisture resistant/explosion resistant terminal enclosure option.
  • Tubular heaters can be factory formed to practically any shape, sometimes to bends as small as one element tube diameter.
  • Magnesium Oxide, matrusree uses only 96% pure MgO, the highest grade available for electric heating elements.
  • Tubular Heating elements may be bracket mounted, clamped, thread nipple fitted, flanged, casted into metals, fitted with terminal box or spaced away from the work as radiant heaters. Elements can also be positioned in ducts or vessels for heating air or other gases.
  • Tubular Heaters can be Finned. see Finned tubular heaters.
  • Available in 0.318" (8.1mm), 0.430" (11mm), 0.551" (14mm), 0.625" (15.8mm), 0.669" (17mm), 0.748" (19mm) element diameter.
  • Several wattage and voltage combinations are available.
  • Easy to install.
  • Excellent internal electrical insulation and heat conduction.
  • Electrically isolated sheath.
